What the bot does
The Meetingrid bot lets you post an existing meeting into a Discord channel, or create a brand-new one directly from Discord, then have members reply in plain text to fill in their availability — no need to open the website.
Inviting the bot to your server
On a meeting’s page, open the ⋯ menu and choose “Discord”, then “Add to Discord”. This opens Discord’s own authorization screen where you pick a server — you need permission to manage that server to add a bot to it. The bot needs Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files, Read Message History, and Use Application Commands in the channels you want to use it in.
Posting an existing meeting
In a channel the bot can see, run /post-meeting and paste the meeting’s link (or just its ID). The bot posts an embed with the meeting’s title, a live preview image of the current availability grid, and instructions for replying.
Creating a new meeting from Discord
Run /create-meeting with a title (and optional description). A dropdown lets you pick the meeting type; most types are created immediately with sensible defaults (e.g. the current week or month), while types tied to a specific week, month, year, day, or a custom set of dates ask you to fill in a small form first. Either way, the meeting is created, you’re automatically added as its admin, and it’s posted to the channel right away.
Replying with your availability
Reply to the bot’s message (using Discord’s normal Reply feature, so the message is pinged) describing your availability in plain text, e.g. “free weekday evenings after 6, and all day Saturday”. The bot reads it with the same AI feature the website uses, and replies with what it understood plus Confirm and Cancel buttons — nothing is saved until you confirm. Confirming also deletes your reply and the confirmation prompt, so the channel doesn’t fill up with back-and-forth.
Staying in sync with the web app
Replying on Discord and editing the grid on the website both update the same meeting. Confirming a Discord reply refreshes the posted preview image and immediately updates anyone with the meeting open in a browser — no refresh needed on either side.
Checking a meeting’s Discord status
Open the ⋯ menu on a meeting and choose “Discord” at any time to check whether it’s already posted somewhere — if it is, you’ll see a button to jump straight to that message; if not, you’ll see the option to add the bot.
Signing in with Discord
Separately from the bot, you can also sign in to the website itself with your Discord account from the join screen or your profile’s Connected accounts section — this is optional and independent of using the bot in a server.
